As a Texas-based interior photographer, one of my favorite parts of the job is collaborating with interior designers. The best projects happen when we work as a team, blending your design vision with my photography expertise to create images that not only look beautiful but also feel like your work. That’s the magic of portfolio worthy interior design photography, it’s not just about snapping photos, it’s about creating visuals that elevate your designs and truly reflect your brand. If you’ve ever wondered how to get the very best results from your photoshoot, here are a few tips to make the process seamless, fun, and portfolio-worthy.
Open communication ensures you’ll never feel left guessing. Sharing your goals, design inspiration, and the story behind your project allows me to capture what matters most — images that truly reflect your design.

Your project has personality, and I want to capture it. Reviewing your notes, mood boards, or reference images ahead of time ensures the final images highlight the details you’re most proud of.

I offer complimentary pre-shoot walkthroughs for both half-day and full-day sessions. Together, we’ll choose the strongest angles for each room and create a shot list that will give you portfolio-worthy interior design photography. This ensures styling effort is focused where it matters most.
Great design photography is a team effort. Adjusting styling, furniture placement, and lighting can take time — but it’s worth it for portfolio-worthy images. Tethered shooting allows you to see images live on my iPad, so we perfect shots together.
While not required, I also highly recommend hiring a stylist — especially for high-end or publication-ready shoots. A stylist ensures every detail looks intentional and polished. I have a few trusted stylist recommendations I share with my Texas interior design clients.

Lighting completely changes the mood. I combine natural and artificial light to add depth, definition, and shadow, ensuring your design looks as stunning in photos as it does in real life.

Your work isn’t just finishes and furnishings — it’s about creating a home where people live, gather, and connect. I focus on flow, details, and the overall feeling of the design so your portfolio communicates your vision.

With clear communication, thoughtful planning, and a little patience, you’ll walk away with images that showcase your designs at their very best — and help your next client see why you are the right designer for them.
