5 Tips to Help Plan Your Brand Photoshoot by a Houston Brand Photographer

Did you know that the quality of your brand photos can make or break your marketing strategies? 

Photos are the first things potential clients see when they visit your website or social media platforms! Photos can create an instant connection in just one single image! Professional photos help build trust with your potential clients and audience. This is because photos show not just your beautiful face but your personality as well! But how do you prepare for it? Here are just a couple of tips to help you rock your next personal brand photoshoot!  I’ve said them before, but they are definitely worth repeating!!

1. Make a list of your goals for the brand photoshoot!

You need to have a clear intent on what you want your brand to portray as well as your photos!

Ask yourself, are you rebranding? Are you launching a new course or product? … Or are you wanting to grow your business by showcasing your personality and work through photos?

Once you know why you can start mapping out all the details and bring them into life through your brand photos! 

Research photographers to find one that you’ll love working with! A photographer who can bring your vision to life and portray you and your brand’s personality in an image! (Like me).

Always make sure to communicate with your photographer in advance about the type of shots you want and what kind of images you like. The more information you give, the more efficient the outcome will be!

2. Figure out where you’re going to use the brand photos!

Are they for your website? Resume? Social media? It’s important to let your brand photographer know this so they can take the photos with the best composition in mind for where they will be used.

3. Create a mood board for your brand photoshoot! 

Mood boards may be one of my favorite things to do with my clients! They are a great way to visualize the look you are wanting for your shoot. Not only will it help the photographer get a better insight into your vision but it will also help you think about how you would like to dress and style yourself for the brand shoot. The best place to do this is on Pinterest!

4. Last but not least, hire a professional photographer!

Find a photographer that is a perfect fit for you and your business! Do some research and see if they fit your vibe/style and reach out to them as soon as possible! See if they understand your vision, and aesthetic as well as provide you with insight on what will work best for you and your brand.

I’ve spoken with so many clients that were nervous before their brand photoshoot but there really is no need to be! Just have fun, go with the flow, and trust the process! The more you work with your brand photographer ahead of time during the planning phase, the more confidence you will have in your investment, and the more you can relax and have fun on the day of your brand session!
